Our Work in Maryland

In partnership with the State of Maryland, ARC is supporting 34 projects in Maryland totaling $6.7 million in fiscal year (FY) 2024. These investments have been matched by $9.4 million in Maryland. They are also training and educating 1,819 students and workers, serving 1,975 households/businesses with infrastructure, and benefitting the 251,000 residents in Maryland’s 3 Appalachian counties.

Investments in Action

Western Maryland Works

With ARC support, Western Maryland Works purchased state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing equipment. Allegany College of Maryland now trains students in machining, welding and industrial maintenance at the facility.

State Plans and Strategies

ARC’s current strategic plan is a blueprint for investments at the Regional level. Each of Appalachia’s 13 states develops a companion four-year plan and annual strategy statement outlining its funding priorities for ARC projects.
