Appalachian Regional Energy Hub Initiative

The Appalachian Regional Energy Hub Initiative is a funding opportunity to support the development and implementation of a regional energy hub.

Launched in March of 2024, the initiative makes available up to $5 million for eligible applicants to:

  • Conduct research regarding the economic impact of an ethane energy storage hub; or
  • Support the implementation of an energy hub for natural gas and natural gas liquids, including hydrogen produced from natural gas feedstocks.

ARC Awards Nearly $4.7 Million to Three Energy Projects

In December 2024, ARC awarded nearly $4.7 million to three projects that will work to implement a hydrogen energy hub from natural gas feedstocks, as well as provide job training for Appalachians to work in the energy industry.
