ARC will celebrate the graduates of this year’s Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy and Appalachian STEM Academy programs via social media starting on Friday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

APPALACHIAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY
- The Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy is an experiential learning opportunity for Appalachian high school students, designed to cultivate creativity and develop essential skills for entrepreneurship.
- Participating students develop their business ideas to address challenges and strengthen communities across Appalachia, concluding with a pitch presentation to an audience of entrepreneurs.
- In partnership with Appalachian State University, EntreED and STEM West, the program prepares the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and thinkers by fostering innovative ideas that will benefit Appalachian economies and communities.
APPALACHIAN STEM ACADEMY AT OAK RIDGE
- The Appalachian STEM Academy at Oak Ridge is a residential, hands-on learning experience that has pioneered access to STEM-related research opportunities for high school students & teachers and middle school students across Appalachia for more than 30 years.
- Participating students work with award-winning scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy research facility, on guided group science, math, computer science and technology projects; participating teachers collaborate with STEM practitioners to develop STEM-related curriculum for their students.
- The program provides students – many of whom come from economically distressed counties – with valuable exposure to applied STEM education, concluding with a graduation ceremony where participants showcase their work.
