Join this ARC webinar to learn more about the recently-released Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) Initiative. We will give an overview of the WORC initiative and provide prospective applicants with key points to consider when developing their applications, drawn from lessons learned from the first 4 rounds of WORC.
Technical Assistance Resources Available
In addition to joining the live webinar, you can watch these technical assistance videos to break down components of the WORC funding opportunity, a grant initiative from the U.S. Department of Labor in partnership with ARC. These videos will cover eligibility, grant requirements and allowable activities, performance reporting, and the application process.
About WORC
WORC enables communities in the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border regions to propose projects that demonstrate the alignment of regionally driven, comprehensive approaches to addressing economic distress and the necessary workforce development activities to ensure a workforce capable of succeeding in current and future job opportunities. This opportunity is reviewed and funded by the Department of Labor (DOL) with post-award technical assistance provided by the applicant’s designated region. DOL’s FOA announced the availability of up to $44 million for grants with no match requirement to create economic prosperity and gainful employment opportunities for eligible residents of these regions, enabling them to remain and thrive in these communities.
