Brooxie Carlton
Brooxie Carlton serves as director of federal programs for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. In this position, Carlton oversees the administration of Community Development Block grants, Delta Regional Authority grants, Appalachian Regional Commission grants and CDBG-Disaster grants. Previously, Carlton served as program manager for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block grants and as a regional economic development specialist at ECD.
Originally from Dyersburg, TN, Carlton attended Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, AL, majoring in psychology and sociology and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors. Carlton received her master’s degree in human, organizational, and community development from Vanderbilt University in 2004.
