A high school completion rate is the percentage of adults, 25 years and over, completing 12 years or more of school. The map uses natural breaks in the distribution to organize the data into groups of common values. Appalachian high school completion rates range from 25.3% to 80.8%. The Appalachian average is 57.3%. The U.S. average is 66.5%. For a list of county data by state, see the downloadable Excel file.
